Germany · 6 days · From EUR 1200
This six-day yoga retreat is designed for anyone seeking to step away from the pace of daily life and reconnect with both nature and their own sense of inner calm. Whether you are new to yoga or have an established practice, the programme is adapted to meet you where you are, with teachers offering individual guidance so that every participant feels both comfortable and appropriately challenged. Solo travellers are warmly welcome, and many guests arrive on their own, finding connection and community through shared meals, group activities, and the relaxed atmosphere that defines the experience.
Hosted by Anandam Yoga School, a Yoga Alliance registered international yoga school, the retreat draws on a philosophy centred around simplicity and wellbeing. The daily practice weaves together Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, Yin yoga, pranayama, and meditation, complemented by workshops exploring the Eight Limbs of yoga and various pranayama and meditation techniques. Evenings bring restorative offerings such as Yoga Nidra, sound healing, and a fire ceremony with kirtan, allowing for deeper relaxation and reflection.
The setting is the tranquil town of Heimbach, nestled on the edge of the Eifel National Park in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The surrounding landscape is defined by lush forests, rolling hills, and crystal-clear lakes, providing an ideal backdrop for nature immersion. Accommodation is in a peaceful guesthouse at the heart of Heimbach, where rooms are clean, spacious, and come with attached bathrooms. Guests have access to a beautiful garden, terrace, and dedicated yoga shala. The picturesque Rursee lake is just a twenty-minute walk away, offering opportunities for swimming and watching the sunset.
A typical day begins with morning meditation and pranayama at half past seven, followed by an asana practice and a leisurely brunch. Afternoons are devoted to workshops, forest bathing, nature walks, or group excursions, such as a trip to Rursee lake. Late afternoons bring gentler yoga sessions, and after dinner, evenings unfold with activities like Yoga Nidra or sound healing. The pace is unhurried, allowing ample free time for rest, journaling, or simply soaking in the natural surroundings.
The retreat includes five nights of accommodation, daily yoga, meditation, and pranayama classes, as well as specialised workshops and evening activities. Three nutritious vegetarian and vegan meals are provided each day, prepared with regional products and crafted to complement your practice. Water and tea are available throughout the day, and all yoga equipment including mats, blocks, straps, blankets, and bolsters is supplied. Group excursions, WiFi, and pre and post retreat support are also included. Travel insurance, flights, visa fees, and any additional treatments or activities outside the itinerary are not covered. If you arrive by train at Heimbach station from Cologne or Düsseldorf, the team will arrange to collect you.
