Indonesia · 5 days · From USD 656
The retreat runs over five days and four nights, with a gentle daily rhythm rather than a packed schedule. Mornings typically start with yoga — either Hatha for a more active practice or Yin for something slower and stretch-focused — followed by meditation or breathwork. After breakfast, the rest of the day is largely yours.
One of the distinctive experiences here is the water blessing ceremony, a traditional Balinese purification ritual. You'll visit a local temple or sacred spring where a priest leads the ceremony, which involves passing through a series of water spouts while prayers are recited. It's a significant cultural experience that many guests find meaningful, regardless of their spiritual background.
You'll also learn to make canang sari, the small woven offering baskets you see everywhere in Bali. A staff member shows you how to assemble the flowers, rice, and incense into the traditional pattern. It's a hands-on activity that takes about an hour and gives you a small window into daily Balinese life.
The massage is a traditional Balinese style — long, flowing strokes with coconut or frangipani oil, focusing on releasing tension through the whole body. The spa is on-site, so you can schedule it whenever suits you.
The lead instructor, Wayan Suwitra, has been teaching yoga since 2006. He's certified in Hatha and Vinyasa (RYT 200), plus Kundalini through the Kundalini Research Institute. He's also trained in sound therapy, Reiki, and aerial yoga, so there's some flexibility in what the sessions can include if you're interested in something beyond standard asana practice.
The property is intentionally small — five rooms total — so even when other guests are staying, it never feels crowded. Reviews mention the yoga shala as a highlight, built on a platform overlooking the water, and the pool gets plenty of use between activities.
