5-Day Shamanic Healing Retreat in the Sierra Nevada, Spain

Amoraleza sits in the Alpujarras foothills above Lanjarón, surrounded by white villages, spring water and mountain air. It's an off-grid, family-centred community that runs throughout the year, so the retreat doesn't feel like a pop-up venue — you're living alongside the people who keep the place going.

The five days revolve around ceremonies with ayahuasca and cactus, guided by Veronika Saravá and her team, who have been holding plant medicine retreats for over 20 years. Live music is played during ceremony. Facilitators also use rapé and sananga, two traditional Amazonian allies, as part of the clearing work. Each ceremony is held by experienced facilitators who stay present throughout.

Food is vegan, home-made, and free from gluten, sugar and caffeine. Three meals a day are served in a communal dining area, with spring water available. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to make yourself something outside meal times.

The accommodation is deliberately simple. You can book a private yurt, cabin or ecobuilding, share one of those with another guest, take a private bell tent, or pitch your own tent. Bathrooms are shared compost toilets and outdoor hot showers. This is off-grid living, and the setup reflects that.

Between ceremonies there's integration support built into the schedule, plus optional kambo and mediumship sessions. There's free parking on site, mobile reception, and pick-up from the local bus stop by arrangement. The nearest airports are Granada (around an hour) and Málaga (around two hours), and private transfers can be arranged for an extra cost.
