5-Day Singing Bowl and Yoga Healing Retreat in the Nepalese Hills

Nepal · 5 days · From USD 518

The day at Mukti starts early. Wake-up is followed by a morning meditation, a short nature hike, detox tea, and nasal cleansing (jal neti), before the first yoga class of the day. The practice is Hatha and Vinyasa based, taught by Prakriti, a Yoga Alliance certified instructor known for her warm, approachable style. She’s careful to make sure everyone from complete beginners to experienced yogis finds their level, and the classes are as much about breath and mindfulness as they are about the physical postures.

After breakfast and a couple of hours of free time, the program moves into its more distinctive territory: singing bowl healing meditation. This is where the bowls are placed on or around the body, and the sound vibrations are used to help settle the nervous system. It sounds a little out there, but guests repeatedly describe it as the most relaxing part of the week. Afternoons also include chakra healing meditation, plus a daily tea-and-popcorn break that has become something of a ritual—a chance to chat with the other guests and feel part of the group.

Evenings wind down with Bhakti yoga, a devotional practice that often involves chanting, followed by a lighter evening yoga session and dinner. The day ends with candle gazing meditation, which is exactly as simple and powerful as it sounds: you sit, you look at a flame, and you let the mind settle. It’s a straightforward schedule, but that’s the point. There’s no performance, no pressure, just a steady repetition of practices that build on each other.

What makes Mukti different, though, is the people. Yam, the owner, is genuinely warm and runs the place with his family. The meals are all cooked in-house and the whole center runs on a kind of easy hospitality. You’re not a customer; you’re a guest. The setting helps too—the center is nestled in a quiet, green area away from Pokhara’s busier streets, with the Annapurna range visible on clear days. It’s close enough that you could pop into town, but most people find they don’t want to.
