Greece · 5 days · From USD 919
Each day at the En-Zen Wellness Retreat follows a gentle rhythm. At 8:30am, Elena leads a yoga session that varies between Hatha, nidra, and yin styles, all with views of the silver-blue Archipelagos from the hotel's outdoor deck or the beach. Afterward, Miltos lays out a homemade brunch spread with fresh juice, local cheese, homemade jams, and daily specials like crepes or eggs Benedict. The rest of the morning and afternoon is free time—guests swim at one of the three nearby beaches, doze on the sunbeds across the street at Filo's Guesthouse, or book an additional healing session. A second yoga practice around 6:30pm is tailored to wind down the day, and dinner each evening is at a different traditional taverna in a nearby village, where you'll try dishes like dolmades, fresh octopus, or chicken souvlaki.
What sets this retreat apart from a standard hotel holiday is the integration of wellness into every part of the day, without it feeling forced. Morning practices are energizing, evening practices are restful, and the spiritual elements—mandala drawing, mantra chanting, guided meditation, even a cacao or sound bath—are woven in as optional extras rather than mandatory programming. The hiking day is probably the highlight: you'll spend about three hours walking through the island's terraced gardens, past old stone architecture and herds of sheep, eventually reaching a viewpoint over the sea.
Elena has 33 years of personal practice and formal training from the Vasishta Yoga School in Kerala, India, plus certifications in Reiki, Thai massage, and Silva Mind Control. She's known for adapting every session to the group's energy and skill level, and beginners feel as comfortable as experienced practitioners. The small group size (usually 2–10 guests, but it can shrink to one) means the schedule can flex around you—one recent guest chose to have her massage after dinner instead of during the day, and it was arranged with no fuss at all.
The hotel, Perrakis, is a family-run place with a pool, sea-view balconies, and a restaurant, and it sits literally steps from the sand. Andros is less touristy than the more famous Cyclades islands, so you get empty beaches and authentic villages rather than crowds. The main town is a short walk or drive away, and the hosts are happy to recommend places for lunch (which is the one meal not included). All transportation for included activities is taken care of, and Elena or Miltos will pick you up from the port when you arrive.
