Home › Retreats › 5 Day Yoga and Culture Immersion Retreat in Bali's Rice Paddies
Indonesia · 5 days · From USD 276
The schedule runs on a reliable rhythm: yoga at 8 am, a cultural or village activity at 11 am, lunch, then either free time or a second yoga session at 4 pm, and an afternoon activity at 6 pm. Mornings are devoted to asana, with styles ranging from Hatha and Vinyasa to the locally rooted Watukaru style. The teachers, including Swandewi and Nyoman, have over a decade of experience and bring a calm, grounded presence to class.
The cultural program is where this retreat stands out. On Monday you might be making Balinese Hindu offerings or visiting a waterfall; Tuesday brings ceremonial dance or coconut oil making; Wednesday and Saturday are beach yoga days if the weather cooperates, with a departure after breakfast. You'll also have chances to learn Balinese music, cook your own lunch, or join a trash hero activity in the village. These aren't touristy performances — they're real, hands-on chances to see how people live here.
The food is entirely vegan and vegetarian, prepared by a private chef with fresh, whole ingredients sourced locally. Meals are served three times a day, and the emphasis is on nourishing the body with fruits, vegetables, and grains. The setting is peaceful — the property sits among rice paddies, and you can walk to a local waterfall or into the village. The nearest beaches are about a 30-minute drive away, so this is more about countryside calm than surf and sand.
