Peru · 5 days · From USD 1699
Andean Spirit Lodge sits in the Limatambo Valley, 90 km from Cusco, surrounded by organic gardens and subtropical forest. The property has four spacious bungalows with private bathrooms, a big lounge with hammocks and a log fireplace, and a separate, fully screened yoga and meditation hall set apart in the garden so practice feels genuinely private. Hummingbirds and parrots move through the grounds, and the snowy peak of Mount Humantay is visible on clear days.
Each day follows a gentle rhythm: a morning yoga class, a hike or walk to somewhere interesting, free time in the afternoon, another optional yoga class, then dinner and often meditation or chanting by the fire. The hikes are the real draw — hidden Inca sites like Killarumiyoq, Tarawasi and Choquechurco, which you reach with a private guide and often have entirely to yourselves. The Choquechurco climb is about ninety minutes up a steep trail, rewarded with a picnic and views across the valley.
Oda Seedhouse, who trained in Sivananda yoga in Canada and India and has lived in the Peruvian Andes for nearly thirty years, leads the week. She is a licensed guide for the Cusco area and knows these ruins and trails intimately. Her partner Armando, also a Sivananda teacher and a ceramic artist, co-hosts. Together they treat each guest like a VIP — the service is personal, the food is homemade, and the atmosphere is closer to staying at a friend's country house than a resort.
