Home › Retreats › 50-Hour Aerial Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh: YACEP Certification with Daily Hammock Practice
Rishikesh · 7 days · From EUR 207
Daily life follows a simple rhythm: four aerial practical sessions each day, spread across the morning and afternoon, with breaks for meals and rest in between. Each session works through a block of the 70-posture syllabus, from basic suspended standing and seated poses through inversions and more complex transitions. Because you're in the hammock for the majority of the day, the learning happens by repetition — you'll come out of the week with the postures in your body, not just in your notebook.
The syllabus combines practical work with the theory you need to teach safely. You'll cover alignment principles specific to aerial work, how to set up and inspect a rig, how to spot students during inversions, and how to adapt poses for different body types and experience levels. The spinal-traction element gets its own attention: the course explains which inverted shapes help which kinds of back discomfort and, just as importantly, which ones to avoid with specific conditions.
Sequencing and class planning are woven through the week. You'll learn how to build a session from warm-up to peak pose to cool-down, how to pace a class for a mixed-ability group, and how to cue transitions clearly when students are hanging rather than standing. By the final days you'll be practising teaching segments to the group, which is usually where people notice how much they've absorbed.
Rishikesh itself does a lot of the work. The town sits where the Ganges leaves the foothills of the Himalayas, and it's been a centre for yoga study for decades. Between sessions there's the river, the temples, and cafés along the water, plus plenty of places to walk. Arohan Yoga School is based here and runs the course on site, with accommodation at the school itself — four room options, from a triple shared room up to a private single with air conditioning and heating.
The group is typically a mix of existing teachers adding an aerial credential and dedicated practitioners who want structured time in the silks. Because the course runs 50 hours in seven days, the pace is fairly full, but the daily structure leaves room to rest, eat properly and explore in the evenings. If you've been curious about aerial work but didn't want to commit to a 100- or 200-hour programme, this is a manageable way in.
