Home › Retreats › 50-Hour Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training by Sacred Lake Atitlán
Guatemala · 8 days · From USD 1338
The Mystical Womyn Prenatal Training is built around the idea that pregnancy is a sacred, transformative time. The curriculum weaves together yoga traditions — Ashtanga Vinyasa, Sivananda, and Iyengar — with the four directions of the Native American Medicine Wheel. Each direction brings its own focus: movement, nourishment, or meditation, guiding you through the trimesters as if you were living them yourself. You'll learn practical tools like how to adapt poses for different stages of pregnancy, how to sequence a prenatal class, and how to support women through labor with specific poses and breathing techniques.
What sets this training apart is the emphasis on the emotional and spiritual side of birth work. You'll study the ancient art of placenta medicine, learn about the Blessing Way ceremony, and explore how to create a 30-day baby moon for mother and baby. Sessions on infertility, miscarriage, and infant loss are included, giving you the skills to support women through grief and loss with compassion and ritual. The program is designed to leave you feeling confident not just to teach yoga, but to walk alongside a pregnant woman through her entire journey.
The farm itself is a key part of the experience. Located on the shores of Lake Atitlán, it's an off-grid sanctuary that runs on permaculture principles. You'll be surrounded by gardens, forest, and the three volcanoes that frame the lake. The community is small — between 2 and 12 participants — so you'll get plenty of individual attention. Gabriella, the lead instructor, is a doula, nutritionist, and mother herself, and she brings a wealth of hands-on knowledge about pregnancy and birth.
