Indonesia · 7 days · From USD 911
The 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training with YogaUnion is a deep dive into the quieter, more introspective side of yoga. Each day begins with pranayama, breathing techniques, and meditation to settle the mind before moving into a Yin practice that targets different elements and body areas. From there, you break down the poses—alignment, modifications, and the 'why' behind each one—so you understand them not just physically but energetically.
Anatomy is a big part of the course. You’ll study bones, fascia, and connective tissue, as well as the more subtle nadis, chakras, and koshas. You’ll also learn about Qi energy and the 12 meridians, and how Yin yoga works on these pathways. This is balanced with philosophy sessions that trace the history of Yin and explain the relationship between Yin and Yang. Workshops on meditation, visualization, and yoga nidra round out the curriculum, giving you a broad toolkit for teaching.
The main teacher is Hayden, who has been practicing yoga for 20 years and has trained hundreds of Yin teachers since 2018. He’s grounded and practical, but also open to the fuller experience of yoga as a spiritual path. He’ll be joined by guest speakers who bring deep knowledge of anatomy and philosophy. The school, YogaUnion, has been running trainings in Bali for over a decade and is registered with Yoga Alliance, so your hours count toward continuing education.
Location is a big part of the appeal. The shala and accommodation are tucked into the rice fields outside Ubud, a peaceful area where cars can’t go—only foot, bicycle, or motorbike. The restaurant on site serves vegetarian buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with local dishes like tofu and tempeh curries alongside fresh fruit and Balinese crepes. It’s a calm, supportive environment where you can really focus on the training.
