50-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training and Wellness Retreat in Nepal

Kathmandu · 7 days · From USD 345

This is a 50-hour Yin Yoga teacher training with a difference—it's set in the Himalayan foothills, taught by instructors who blend Yin with Traditional Chinese Medicine and Himalayan meditation, and run by one of the first yoga centers in Nepal dedicated to spiritual tourism since 2007. The academy sits on the edge of Nagarjun Jungle, a green, quiet spot that feels removed from Kathmandu's chaos, yet it's only about 10 minutes from the airport.

The curriculum is thorough. You'll study Yin Yoga postures and sequencing, the meridian lines from Traditional Chinese Medicine, and how to guide others through long-held poses. There's also a Hatha Yang component each morning, which gives you a counterbalance to the slow Yin work. The teaching staff includes instructors with backgrounds in yoga therapy and sound healing—one of the lead teachers, Prapti, is known for her work in Nada Chikitsa (sound healing) as well as Ashtanga and Vinyasa.

The schedule is full but not overwhelming. Mornings start with Shatkarma and pranayama, followed by a Hatha flow. After breakfast, you move into anatomy and meridian theory, then after lunch, teaching methodology, and the day ends with a Yin practice in the late afternoon. Evenings are mostly free, with optional kirtan after dinner. On the seventh day, classes are replaced by a cultural tour, giving you a chance to see more of the Kathmandu Valley.

Accommodation is simple but comfortable, with rooms offering garden, mountain, or city views. The price is remarkably low for a 50-hour certification course—one of the main reasons many guests choose this over more expensive retreats in the West. If you're looking to add a YACEP-eligible certification to your resume, or just want a structured week of practice in a meaningful setting, this delivers.

The small group size means you get real feedback and personal guidance. The instructors are experienced—guests consistently praise Suyog, Krishna, and Raj in reviews. The academy also has an option to extend your stay by extra days if you want to explore more of Nepal after the course.
