Costa Brava · 46 days · From USD 5234
The 500-hour training at Nydum Yoga is an intensive, seven-week immersion that takes you from the foundations of teaching to advanced subjects, including Ashtanga Yoga, biomechanics, Vinyasa sequencing, philosophy, hands-on adjustments, and teaching methodology. The curriculum is structured to build your skills progressively: starting with daily Ashtanga practice through the Primary and Intermediate Series, pranayama and meditation, and self-practice development with individual guidance. Anatomy and biomechanics classes cover breath mechanics, injury prevention, and adapting teaching for different bodies, while philosophy sessions explore the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and Hatha Yoga Pradipika, bringing these texts into everyday life and teaching.
Teaching methodology is a core component, with intelligent sequencing, clear communication, effective cueing, and hands-on teaching practice with regular feedback. You'll also learn safe and effective hands-on assists, understanding when and how to adjust, and applying anatomical knowledge to every adjustment. Throughout the training, you may take part in workshops covering topics such as backbends, inversions, acro yoga, yin yoga, myofascial release, and Ayurveda, adding variety and depth to your learning.
What sets this training apart is the quality of instruction and the intimate, supportive atmosphere. Lead teacher Amelia has been teaching for over 15 years, with a background in Pilates, fitness, personal training, and a degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences. She completed her 500-hour YTTC in 2013 and is passionate about anatomy, having applied her knowledge to Ashtanga Yoga. The team of internationally-trained teachers includes specialists like Nina, an Ashtanga powerhouse; Popi, who brings a background in physical therapy; Merle, who teaches Yin Yoga and Pranayama and is also a massage therapist; and Kim, who leads breathwork and shares her Reiki practice. This diverse team ensures you receive comprehensive, expert guidance throughout the program.
The training takes place at Nydum, a villa located a bit outside Palamos centre, elevated with stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea. The property features a saltwater swimming pool, a huge garden with green spaces, and a long table where everyone eats together. The vegetarian cuisine, prepared by Ricky, is creative and nourishing, with every meal crafted with care. The peaceful setting, combined with the small group size (between 4 and 15 participants), creates an ideal environment for deep learning and personal transformation.
