500-Hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training & Wellness Immersion in Spain

Costa Brava · 46 days · From USD 5234

This 500-hour training is a deep dive into Ashtanga Vinyasa, blending the traditional Ashtanga method with a more dynamic Vinyasa approach. The curriculum runs through the Ashtanga Primary and Intermediate Series, with daily led practice and Mysore-style sessions where you can work on your own practice with individual guidance from teachers. Beyond the physical practice, you'll study functional anatomy and biomechanics, breath mechanics, injury prevention, and how to adapt your teaching to different bodies. Philosophy is a big part of the course too—you'll explore the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and learn how to bring these teachings into your everyday life and future classes.

The teaching methodology component is hands-on from early on. You'll learn how to sequence classes intelligently, cue effectively, and give safe, effective hands-on adjustments. Every student gets regular feedback as they practice teaching, helping you find your own authentic voice as a teacher. There are also specialized workshops throughout the program on backbends, inversions, Acro Yoga, Yin Yoga, myofascial release, and Ayurveda, so you get a well-rounded education that goes beyond just the physical asanas.

What sets this training apart is the setting and the level of personal attention. It's hosted at Villa Flores, a home with a long table where everyone eats together, a saltwater pool, and views over the Mediterranean. The group is capped at 15, which means you get direct access to the lead teacher, Amelia, and her team of international instructors. Past students consistently mention how the small group and the supportive community made the experience feel like joining a family. The training is demanding—it's explicitly designed for people who want depth and are ready to put in the work—but the payoff is a Yoga Alliance certified 500-hour certificate and the confidence to teach.

The location itself is a highlight. The villa sits a bit outside Palamos, elevated with views over the sea. There's a walking trail called Camí de Ronda that runs along the coast, perfect for free-time hikes. Barcelona is 1.5 hours away and Girona is 30 minutes, so you have the option to explore Catalonia on your days off. Starting in September, the summer crowds have thinned, leaving warm weather and a peaceful atmosphere that's ideal for a focused training.
