500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Immersion in Rishikesh

The program combines the 200-hour and 300-hour teacher training syllabi into one continuous 58-night stay. The first weeks build the foundation—alignment, sequencing, anatomy, and the basic philosophy—while the later weeks push into advanced pranayama, subtle body work, Tantra, and higher-level teaching methodology. The structure is set so that you are practicing in the morning, studying theory mid-day, and actually teaching your peers by afternoon.

The ashram sits right on the sacred banks of the Ganga River in Rishikesh, the self-styled Yoga Capital of the World. The schedule reflects that setting: mornings include Ganga bathing and meditation; evenings often feature Aarti ceremony or kirtan. The location is peaceful and green, a short walk from cafes and wellness centers, but the routine keeps you mostly on-site and immersed in the training.

What makes this different from a shorter 200-hour course is the depth and the diversity of teachers. Over eight weeks you will be taught by a dozen or more instructors, each specialized in a different area—Hatha, Kundalini, philosophy, Ayurveda, Marma therapy, and prenatal yoga among them. You get exposure to many teaching styles rather than a single lineage, which is useful when you start teaching your own students and need to find your own voice.

The exam and assessment process is continuous rather than a single final test. You practice teaching in front of your peers, receive feedback, and refine your sequencing and cueing over many weeks. By the final days you are expected to lead full classes. The certificate you receive—RYT-500, registered with Yoga Alliance—qualifies you to teach internationally.
