6-Day Himalayan Wellness and Relaxation Retreat in Nepal

Mandala Yoga Retreat sits at 2,000 meters above sea level on Chandragiri Hill, about a 30-40 minute drive from Kathmandu's airport. The property is a traditional Nepalese guest house nestled between two hills, surrounded by gardens, forest, and hiking trails. The altitude means clean, cool air and quiet – a genuine escape from the city below. The retreat is deliberately small, hosting between one and ten guests at a time, so the schedule can flex around your needs.

What makes this retreat distinctive is the range of healing modalities folded into the days. Beyond daily yoga and meditation, the package includes two massage therapy sessions, two sound healing sessions, a Reiki session, and access to steam or sauna. The idea is that stress lives in the body as much as the mind, so each layer gets addressed – tension in muscles, restless sleep, an overactive mind. The sound healing, led by Mr. Biren Karki, uses vibrations to shift your nervous system into a restful state.

The hiking is a real highlight. A gentler first walk takes you through a traditional village, past an ancient temple and a Buddhist gumba. The bigger hike climbs to Chandragiri peak, rewarding you with views across the valley and, if the sky is clear, Mount Everest on the horizon. After a day on the trail, you'll come back to a 90-minute massage – a particularly good way to end the day's exertions. The week is built to leave you genuinely rested, not just busy with activities.
