Switzerland · 6 days · From USD 2377
The retreat runs over six days and five nights, and the structure is a mix of daily yoga, workshops, and free time. Days typically start with a meditation, pranayama, and yoga session that Nina adapts on the spot. She draws on Hatha yoga in the lineage of Swami Sivananda, but blends in Ashtanga, Yin, embodiment work, and aerial yoga. There's a strong emphasis on connective tissue release and mobility, using myofascial techniques, so you'll leave feeling genuinely looser rather than just tired from class.
Each day has a different theme. Day two focuses on introspection — there's art therapy, a silent lunch to eat mindfully, and your included full-body massage. Day three is about change: a therapeutic nature walk and a workshop built around the seasonal shift. Day four is the physical peak — a cold water therapy workshop in the morning, then cacao and ecstatic dance in the afternoon. Day five is pure serenity, with aerial yoga as the centerpiece before a free afternoon. The final morning is a gentle practice and a last breakfast, then you're back to the world.
The hotel is the Mad Retreat, a family-run place that the team describe as a brand as much as a hotel. It's spread over a lush estate with 45 rooms, from chalet-style mazots to rooms inside the main building. Everything is designed around mountain living — aged wood, cozy corners, and huge windows that frame the Alps. The staff are welcoming, and guests consistently mention the food, with Luca in the kitchen turning out varied, filling vegetarian meals.
What sets this retreat apart is the combination of winter sports culture and serious yoga. Nendaz is part of the 4 Vallées, Switzerland's largest ski area, so you're surrounded by slopes and ski schools. Nina herself used to manage a ski school in the region, so there's an easy crossover — several guests come for the skiing and stay for the yoga. The hotel even offers ski storage and can help arrange lift passes. But even if you never touch a ski, the spa, the sauna, and the mountain views give you plenty of reasons to stay on the property.
