Queensland · 7 days · From EUR 1495
Active Escapes has been running training-camp style holidays in Australia and overseas for years, and their Noosa week is one of the core Australian departures. It's a full seven days on the Sunshine Coast, with accommodation included, food largely covered, and roughly two training blocks a day. Mornings typically start with something outdoors — a beach session on Main Beach or Little Cove, a run through Noosa National Park, a circuits session on the sand — followed by breakfast. Late morning is strength or conditioning work in a training space, then the afternoon is free.
The second block of the day varies. Some afternoons are boxing pad sessions, some are mobility or yoga, some are team-based challenges. There are usually two or three organised excursions during the week — a coastal walk, a boat trip, a dinner somewhere in Noosa — which act as active recovery rather than workout sessions. Nothing is compulsory; coaches will tell you on the morning briefing what the session is and you decide whether to join.
What separates this week from a generic fitness holiday is the coaching structure. The Active Escapes team runs each session to a plan, tracks how people are going, and scales the work to whoever is in the room. You're not left to figure out a gym on your own, and you're not in a class of forty. Small groups mean people with a range of goals — weight loss, event prep, general getting-back-into-it — get a genuinely tailored week.
Noosa itself does a lot of the work. The national park runs right along the coast with the Coastal Track past Tea Tree Bay and Hell's Gates, the main beach is patrolled and swimmable, and Hastings Street is a short walk from most of the accommodation with cafés, restaurants and a surf club. It's warm most of the year, which means outdoor sessions are viable even in winter, and the water is comfortable from around September through May.
Expect a mix of ages roughly between mid-20s and mid-50s, a fairly even split of solo travellers and people coming in pairs, and a group that eats dinner together most nights. Rooms are shared by default with private upgrades available, and the week suits anyone who wants to train with structure but still have a proper holiday around it.
