France · 7 days · From USD 1150
The 7-day anti-burnout yoga retreat in Châtel is a carefully structured week that blends yoga, wellness workshops, and mountain activities. Each day starts with a yoga class that's designed to relax rather than challenge you—expect Hatha Flow, Slow Vinyasa, and Yoga Nidra. The afternoons might include a workshop on Do In self-massage, a session on breathing and cardiac coherence, or a gentle hike to one of the nearby mountain lakes. You'll also have a chance to experience Shiatsu, a Japanese acupressure technique, which is a special feature of this retreat.
The retreat is led by Fannie Bournais, a certified Shiatsu practitioner and Vinyasa yoga teacher who has been working in complementary health since 2016. Her approach is practical and rooted in traditional techniques, and she's passionate about sharing tools that people can use in their daily lives to manage stress. The small group size (8–12 people) means you'll get personal attention and feel supported throughout the week.
The chalet itself is a peaceful base, located on the French-Swiss border in the Northern Alps. It's close to mountain lakes and walking trails, yet only about an hour from Geneva. The setting is very much part of the retreat—you're surrounded by nature, with easy access to the outdoors, and the chalet has amenities like a sauna and spa for extra relaxation. It's a place where you can genuinely let go and focus on yourself for a week.
