7-Day Family Wellness & Adventure Retreat in Costa Rica

Cabuya Lodge is a small, family-run eco-lodge in a quiet corner of Costa Rica's Puntarenas Province. The retreat runs for seven days and six nights, and it's designed for families with kids and teens. you'll stay in private cabins surrounded by jungle, with howler monkeys and scarlet macaws as your neighbors. The lodge has three pools, an open-air yoga shala, and an on-site restaurant, and it's just a three-minute walk from a pristine beach.

Each day starts with coffee and a yoga class for the adults, while the kids can join in for some sessions or do their own activities. The schedule includes things like family acro yoga, a guided hike in Cabo Blanco National Park, a trip to Montezuma Waterfall, and a visit to a nearby island cemetery that's only accessible at low tide. There's also a dedicated kids' program with art projects, treasure hunts, and pool time, so parents can sneak off for a massage or just relax.

The retreat is hosted by Kristen Birth, a 500-hour registered yoga teacher and the founder of Rebirth Fitness Yoga. She's been in the health and wellness world for over 24 years, and she brings that experience to every session. The food is a big highlight—fresh, local, and made to please everyone, including picky eaters. By the end of the week, you'll feel like you've had a real adventure and a real rest, all at the same time.
