Home › Retreats › 7-Day Himalayan Yoga Retreat for Inner Peace and Wellness in Rishikesh, India
Rishikesh · 7 days · From USD 387
The retreat is based at Balyogi Premvarni Ashram, which sits between the Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula bridges in the Swargashram area of Rishikesh. The late Balyogi Premvarni Ji, a self-realized yogi, founded the ashram in 1960, and his daughter Divya Varni now manages it. She has a Master's degree in Yoga from Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, so the teaching is firmly rooted in the Himalayan tradition. The group is small, generally between five and twenty people, which means each guest gets personal attention in the yoga sessions. The daily schedule is consistent: sunrise meditation and pranayama, a two-hour asana class, breakfast, then a philosophy workshop covering yogic texts, chakras, and mindful living. Afternoons are free for personal practice, a yin yoga class, or a sound healing session. There are also guided nature walks, visits to hidden caves and temples, and satsangs, which are informal spiritual discussions. The week ends with a personalized practice plan for you to take home. The ashram offers 3, 5, 7, and 14-day retreats, so you can extend your stay if you feel like you need more time. This is a peaceful, authentic place, well away from the commercial retreat scene in parts of Rishikesh, with the Ganges and the jungle right on the doorstep.
