Thailand · 7 days · From USD 433
Battle Conquer is a family-run Muay Thai gym and retreat set among rice paddies and hills in Phetchabun, a rural province about 340km north of Bangkok. The camp is named after the Thai saying 'Phichit Suk', a phrase said to fighters for good luck, translating to 'battle conquer'. Owner Noi comes from a hospitality background, having worked in top Bangkok hotels, while her father Pau has trained fighters for years and is well known for preparing competitors. The whole family is involved, and guests often comment on how welcome they feel.
Training runs twice a day, Monday to Saturday, with an afternoon class on Sundays. Sessions combine shadow boxing, bag work, one-on-one pad work, and HIIT circuits, with 3-minute rounds and active recovery exercises — a format that builds cardiovascular fitness quickly. Once a week there's a dedicated technique class covering grappling and sparring. If you want to compete, the camp will prepare you and find you a suitable opponent at local carnival fights, with the whole camp turning out to cheer you on. Western boxing is also cross-trained, complementing the Muay Thai work.
Beyond the ring, there's a truck push for functional strength, a bootcamp session, and the Buddha Run Challenge. Included excursions take you on countryside walks, a jungle trail to a waterfall where you can swim and meditate, and a Sunday visit to meet the only English-speaking monk in the province, with guided meditation. Yoga is available at the Shakti Shala for an extra fee, as are meditation and temple tours, cooking classes, and massage.
The camp has two main areas: Kaewma Farm, where the original farm lodges, yoga shala, and Noi's Cafe sit among the fields, and the newer Wijittra Resort, a short walk away, with the swimming pool, ice plunge, smoothie bar, and the new Muay Thai and weight training gyms. It's a simple, comfortable setup — think air-conditioned rooms, en-suite bathrooms, and plenty of character rather than five-star frills. Guests from complete beginners to experienced fighters fit in, and the schedule is flexible, so you can choose your activity level each day.
