Home › Retreats › 7-Day Yoga & Hiking Wellness Escape in Montenegro's Kotor Bay
Europe · 7 days · From USD 695
The retreat is based at Pachamama Farm, a restored stone farmhouse surrounded by forest and bay trees in the tiny village of Ukropci, near Kotor on Montenegro's Adriatic coast. The property includes a dedicated yoga hall, a permaculture garden, and various accommodation options from stone house rooms to treehouses in the woods. The daily rhythm mixes yoga practice with guided excursions to the region's highlights – secret beaches, a waterfall, the old town of Kotor, and the farm's own historical features like an Austro-Hungarian-era stone path and olive mill.
Each morning is anchored by a yoga class, often on the property's yoga deck or in the hall. One of the standout sessions is the SUP Yoga excursion, where guests paddle out to a small island and practice yoga on the boards, with the Bay of Kotor's dramatic mountains as a backdrop. Afternoons are filled with guided hikes – one to a secluded beach, another to a waterfall with natural pools where the brave can jump in. There's also a trip into Kotor Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to explore the medieval streets, churches, and the famed city walls.
In the evenings, the community gathers for vegetarian dinners made with produce from the garden and local farms. One night features a fire ceremony in the Gumno, a traditional Balkan circular stone terrace, where guests are invited to share intentions and release what they no longer need. The final day includes a walking meditation along an ancient Austro-Hungarian path through the woods.
The hosts, Zoe and Pasha, live on the farm with their son Jiji, and are hands-on throughout the week. The yoga teacher is Lulu, who also works as a nutrition consultant and life coach. Guests consistently praise the warmth of the community and the quality of the food in their reviews.
The location is a big part of the experience. The farm is set deep in the forest, yet it's only a short drive from the beaches and historic towns of the Bay of Kotor. This retreat is best for people who don't mind basic facilities – think composting toilets and outdoor showers for the glamping options – and who are genuinely looking to reconnect with nature. It's a very social week, with guests often coming solo from all over the world.
