Home › Retreats › 8-Day Personalized Yoga and Wellness Retreat in Tulum, Mexico
Mexico · 8 days · From USD 1130
The retreat is built around the idea that you know best what you need. Each morning begins with Meditation and Movement at 8 am, led by Joanne Fanny, a session that sets a calm tone for the day. Then at 10 am, there's a main yoga practice—styles vary from Vinyasa flow to Yin Yang to Yin—and these are kept intentionally small so the teacher can adjust to your energy and experience level. You'll never feel lost in a crowd; if you need a modification or a deeper expression of a pose, someone will notice and help.
Afternoons are completely free, and that's by design. Some days you might take the bikes and ride the few minutes to Tulum Beach for a swim, or head into the pueblo to explore the market and cafés. Others might book a massage on-site, arrange a Shamanistic energy reading, or sign up for a snorkeling or diving trip with Acuatic Tulum, the partner dive shop where you get 15% off. If you're more of a lounger, there a hammocks and a roof terrace with treetop views where you can read, nap, or just watch the jungle. There's also the option to do an evening practice at 6 pm when the schedule allows, so you can end the day the way you started it.
What makes this retreat stand out is the authenticity of the place. Tulum itself is a Pueblo Magico, full of Mayan history, cenotes, and archaeological sites, and staying at Tribal puts you right in the middle of it. The studio is on the third level of a blue-green building on Avenida Coba, one of the main roads that leads directly to the beach and Jaguar Park. You're close enough to walk to great restaurants and a grocery store, yet far enough from the beach clubs to feel peaceful. It's a rare combination of convenience and calm, and it's why many guests come back year after year.
The food situation is flexible—there's no on-site chef, but each loft has a kitchenette so you can make simple meals, and there are numerous excellent restaurants within a short walk or bike ride. For many people, eating out in Tulum is one of the highlights, and both the town and beach roads are packed with options from casual taco stands to fancy seafood places. The yoga schedule leaves plenty of time for a long, relaxed lunch, which feels like a luxury in itself.
