Egypt · 8 days · From USD 908
This is an intimate retreat on the beach at Nuweiba, South Sinai, run by Susan from her own yoga studio. The practice draws mostly on Iyengar and Hatha yoga, with Yin and restorative classes, plus daily pranayama and meditation. Susan pays close attention to alignment and safety, so it suits beginners as much as people who've practised for years and want to deepen their understanding of the poses.
The setting is part of the appeal. The studio sits between the Sinai mountains and the Red Sea, with a sandy beach just steps away and a coral reef for snorkeling. Nuweiba itself is a quiet town, not touristy, so you get a feel for local life. You can arrange trips to the mountains, the desert, or St. Catherine's Monastery, and there are Egyptian cooking classes on offer.
Food is vegetarian and mostly local, with many vegetables from a nearby farm. You'll get two meals a day as standard, with dinner bookable each morning. The aim is simple, fresh food that supports your practice. There's wine and beer available for those who want it, but this is not a party place.
Beyond yoga, you can book massages, facials, Indian head massage, and Reiki sessions. There's also the option to do Reiki practitioner training at level 1 or 2. The retreat runs from October to May, when the weather is warm and the sea is swimmable.
