Home › Retreats › 8-Day Yoga and Meditation Retreat in Crete with Daily Ashtanga and Yin Classes
Greece · 8 days · From USD 910
The days follow a clear rhythm. From Sunday to Friday, the morning asana class runs for about two hours, and it is taught as traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa, with occasional themed Vinyasa flows. Afternoons from Monday to Friday are given over to meditation, philosophy talks, mantra chanting, and Yin yoga, plus workshops twice a week on topics like Thai yoga massage, yoga philosophy, and kriyas. Saturdays are completely free, so most guests use the day to explore the island, often joining Angelo for a drive to the weekly farmer's market in Chania or heading out to Balos beach. The schedule leaves generous gaps for rest and self-study, and the villa has a library of yoga and healing books if you want to read between sessions. Patricia brings over 1,000 hours of teacher training, including certification in Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow from 2015, plus additional training in Yin, trauma-informed, and meridian yoga. Angelo teaches Mysore-style Ashtanga and has lived in places from Madagascar to Borneo, which gives his teaching a grounded, travelled perspective. The villa itself is fully equipped with a kitchen, three terraces, and a garden with sunbeds and hammocks, so there are plenty of corners to curl up in when the day's practice is done. Guests consistently mention the food, the individual attention, and the warmth of the hosts as the standouts of the week.
