Home › Retreats › 9-Day Breathwork & Somatic Therapy Training in Ikaria, Greece
Greece · 9 days · From USD 1750
The training is structured around the Five Elements, a framework that connects emotions to organs. Earth covers worry and stress held in the stomach and spleen; Metal addresses sadness and control in the lungs; Water works with fear in the kidneys; Wood processes anger in the liver; Fire opens grief in the heart. Each element gets focused sessions where you practice breathwork patterns, learn to read the body, and practice holding space for a partner. By the end, you'll have a full toolkit for somatic therapy work.
Kristine Niranjana leads the breathwork side. She has a Ph.D., trained directly with Dan Brulé, and completed a master plant dieta in the Peruvian Amazon. Charilaos handles the bodywork. He studied Thai Yoga Massage with Pichest and trained as an authorized Chi Nei Tsang teacher under Mantak Chia. Together they cover both the energetic and the physical side of healing—Kristine focuses on breath and trauma awareness, while Charilaos works on the abdomen and connective tissue.
The location matters here. Ikaria is not a typical party island. It's known for longevity: people live past 100, eat a Mediterranean diet, nap in the afternoon, and stay active into old age. The hotel sits between the villages of Livadi and Messakti, both with long sandy beaches. Mornings often start with a view over the sea, and the training is scheduled so you have evenings free for swimming, walking into Armenistis for dinner, or sitting on the terrace with other participants.
This is an advanced training, not an introduction. It's aimed at breathwork facilitators, therapists, coaches, bodyworkers, and yoga teachers who want to add somatic work to what they do. That said, you don't need prior experience in somatic therapy—just a willingness to work with your own material as part of the learning. The group is capped at 24 people, and most participants are there to build professional skills while doing personal healing at the same time.
