Advanced 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Retreat in Germany's Eifel National Park

Germany · 25 days · From USD 5800

The 300-hour training runs over 25 days in Heimbach, in the north of the Eifel National Park. The main teaching couple, Sandeep and Katharina, brings a blend of Indian tradition and Western scientific understanding to the course. Sandeep grew up near Kurukshetra, the battlefield from the Bhagavad Gita, and began yoga under his mother's guidance. Katharina is a PhD in nutritional physiology who met Sandeep in Bali. They co-founded Anandam Yoga School, which is registered with Yoga Alliance USA.

The curriculum covers a wide range of advanced topics. Ashtanga Vinyasa is taught at the Primary Series level, with a focus on Ujjayi breath, jumping transitions, and safe alignment. Arm balancing postures are broken down in detail, from handstand to firefly pose, with instruction on how to safely progress students. Philosophy is a core component—the Patanjali Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika are all studied in depth. Pranayama techniques from the classical texts are practiced daily, including Bhastrika, Ujjayi, and Bhramari.

The training also covers subjects rarely found in a typical 300-hour program. Sukshma Vyayama, the 48 subtle joint-rejuvenating exercises taught by Sri Dhirendra Bhramchari, is covered in full. Shatkarma cleansing techniques like jala neti, sutra neti, and nauli are explained and practiced. Students learn how to write and lead Yoga Nidra sessions, understand the chakra system, and study Ayurvedic principles of diet and lifestyle. Mantra chanting sessions include the Gayatri Mantra, the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, and the Ashtanga opening and closing mantras.

Katharina brings her scientific background into the anatomy and physiology modules, explaining the connection between chakras and endocrine glands, the role of the parasympathetic nervous system in asana, and how to adapt practice around the menstrual cycle. Her teaching style bridges tradition and modern research. Sandeep, who also worked as a professional chef for seven years, contributes a practical, grounded perspective. The combination creates a training that feels both authentic and contemporary, with a supportive atmosphere where students are encouraged to ask questions and find their own path as teachers.
