Nepal · 30 days · From USD 2070
The 300-hour course at Yoga Ayurveda School Nepal runs for 30 days and is built for certified 200-hour teachers who want to move to the next level. The curriculum covers advanced asana practice, pranayama, mudras, bandhas, meditation, shatkarma, mantra, Ayurveda basics, yoga philosophy, anatomy and physiology, alignment and adjustment, teaching methodology, yoga therapy, Ayurveda therapy, and styles such as Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin. Daily classes mix physical practice with lectures, workshops and group discussions, and there is time built in for self-study and reflection.
The teaching is rooted in the Himalayan tradition. Lead teacher Master Hemu Masant has over 12 years of practice and study, and comes from a background of classical yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, mantra and sound healing. Swami Vishwa Jyoti Saraswati, who trained under Swami Satyananda Saraswati at the Bihar School of Yoga in Munger and taught there for 22 years, also teaches at the school. Having that level of lineage in a small training group is rare, and it shapes the whole approach to the material.
Beyond the daily practice, the course includes Ayurvedic consultation, body analysis, sound healing and workshops, plus cultural immersion through local excursions and community activities. The school also organises hikes, nature walks, evening kirtan and movie nights, so the experience is as much about living the yogic lifestyle as it is about the classroom. By the end of the month you will have the skills to teach advanced classes and a much deeper personal practice.
Pokhara is a good place to do this. The town sits on a lake with the Annapurna range rising behind it, and the school is located in a quiet area away from the main tourist strip. There are cafes, yoga studios and outdoor activities nearby, but the school itself is calm and focused. The combination of small group size, expert teachers and a beautiful natural setting makes this a genuinely intensive and immersive training.
