Aerial Yoga and Alpine Snow Retreat in Le Grand-Bornand, French Alps

French Alps · 4 days · From EUR 980

The retreat starts on Thursday 14 January 2027 with arrival at 4pm, check-in and a welcome at the chalet, then an opening circle and a first Vinyasa practice led by both teachers at 5pm. Dinner is at 8pm, and the evening is free — herbal teas, the fireplace and time to settle in. Friday begins at 8am with Power Vinyasa, followed by aerial yoga for group 1 at 10:30am and a gourmet brunch at 11:30am. The afternoon brings a snow hike at 2pm, an afternoon snack with hot chocolate at 4pm, aerial yoga for group 2 at 5pm, a flexibility and deep restoration session at 6pm, a sauna break at 7pm, and an aperitif and Flowaway dinner at 8pm.

Saturday is the fullest day. Yoga Sculpt and an inversion workshop run at 8am, aerial yoga for group 1 at 10:30am, brunch and quiet time at 11:30am, aerial yoga for group 2 at 2:30pm, a yoga dance workshop at 4:30pm, a sauna break at 7pm, and at 8:30pm the Summit White Night — a festive dinner in white with music. Sunday closes with Ladder Vinyasa at 8:30am, a closing circle at 9:30am, farewell brunch at 11am and departures at 1pm.

What separates this from a standard alpine yoga week is the aerial work. Alexandra and Maïwenn both hold aerial yoga qualifications, and the hammocks are set up in the chalet's own practice room rather than a hired studio. The two-group format keeps the suspended sessions small. The programme also leans into the season: a snow hike, hot chocolate by the fire, sauna sessions on the top floor, and a white-themed dinner on the final night.

Alexandra found yoga in London in 2012 and trained at Zen Yoga Dubai between 2020 and 2022 for her RYT 500. She taught in Dubai for several years, moved to Lyon where she built a local following and ran her first retreats, trained in aerial yoga in 2023, and now teaches at studios in London. Maïwenn is a former fashion designer and lifelong dancer who trained in yoga in India and has taught in India, Morocco, France and Switzerland. She is a YogaDance instructor trainer and launched her first teacher training in November 2025. Together they founded Flowaway Yoga in 2023 and run retreats in France and Southern Europe, including Corsica, Provence, the French Alps and Catalonia.

Le Grand-Bornand sits in the Aravis range, a 10-minute walk from Chalet Zenspace, which is in the heart of a hamlet next to a traditional farm. Geneva airport is about 50 km away, roughly 1h15 by car; Lyon Saint-Exupéry is about 150 km, around two hours. Annecy station is 30 km away with bus and taxi connections to the village. A group chat opens a month before departure so participants can arrange carpooling from the airport or station.
