Home › Retreats › All-Inclusive Surf Camp in Taghazout, Morocco — Lessons, Board Hire and Rooftop Ocean Views
Morocco · 7 days · From EUR 399
A typical day starts early, because the surf usually does. You eat breakfast at the camp, load boards into the transport, and head to whichever break is working that morning — the team picks the spot based on swell, wind and the level of the group. Beginners get beach instruction and push-in help in the whitewater; improvers work on turning and positioning; more advanced surfers get guided into the reef breaks. Lunch is back at the camp, then there's often a second session in the afternoon when the wind drops, or free time to read on the roof, walk into the village or nap off the morning.
What separates this from a lot of Moroccan surf camps is what's in the price. Board and wetsuit rental is included, which sounds minor until you realise plenty of camps charge for a board on top of lessons — and you can't take a lesson without one. The camp is also explicit that it is registered and licensed, with a hotel licence and membership of the Moroccan surf federation, in a market where unlicensed operators exist. The founder, Jordy Robers, set the business up around the idea of one price with no hidden costs.
The Morocco location is run day to day by Ayoub, the Moroccan co-owner and manager, who started as a surf instructor at the camp and worked his way up. Stefania handles bookings, customer care and hospitality across all the company's locations. Between them they're the people you'll actually deal with before and during your stay.
Taghazout itself is small, walkable and built around surfing. It's 19 km from Agadir and 153 km from Essaouira, with over 300 days of sunshine a year in the Agadir region. Air temperatures sit around 28°C in summer and roughly 21°C in winter, with nights dropping to about 12°C in the cold months; water runs from about 22°C in summer to 18°C in winter. The best surf window is September/October through to March, though summer is fine for beginners and the camp runs all year.
Getting there is straightforward from Europe. Fly into Agadir (about 30 km from Taghazout) or Marrakech (about 274 km), and the camp provides free transport from the Agadir region. From Marrakech, most people take a CTM or SUPRA bus to Agadir and get picked up there. Ryanair, Royal Air Maroc and EasyJet all fly in from European cities, and if you're bringing your own board those are the airlines the camp recommends.
