Bad Gastein · 7 days
A typical day starts with an open yoga class in the Radon Pavilion, where the equipment is already laid out. Classes are mixed-level, and the teachers work with beginners and experienced practitioners in the same room. After class, breakfast, then the day is yours: hiking, trail running, mountain biking, riding or golf in summer; skiing, freeride, ski tours, cross-country or snowshoeing in winter.
What separates this from a dedicated yoga retreat is that yoga is one part of a hotel programme rather than the whole day. You are not locked into a fixed schedule of four sessions a day. If you want more, book a private lesson or a yoga therapy session with one of the instructors. If you want less, take the morning class and go up the mountain.
The yoga team is described as experienced and well-trained, and the house publishes a yoga calendar and teacher profiles. Prenatal yoga is available on request, which makes it workable for expectant mothers — the hotel also runs a separate programme for them.
The setting is the Gastein Valley, with Bad Gastein's thermal spring in the town below and excursion destinations across the valley. Haus Hirt also has an Aveda spa, a restaurant and bar, and a small fitness room with a multi-purpose bench, barbell with weights, free weights, a stretching area and a resting corner.
Special yoga weeks run alongside the regular programme, including Yoga Autumn Gastein 2026 and a Medical Philosophy & Yoga Retreat. The Bode Method is also listed among the house's offerings.
