Arctic Yoga & Snow Adventure Week in Finnish Lapland

Arctic Yoga & Snow Adventure Week in Finnish Lapland

Lapland · 7 days · From EUR 2950

A typical day starts early with a sauna, then a 75-90 minute yoga class before breakfast. After eating, you're into the snow — the exact activity changes by day: husky sledding one morning, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing the next, sometimes a guided walk into the forest. Lunch is back at the property. Afternoons are kept deliberately loose. You can join an optional excursion (a reindeer farm visit, a snowmobile trip, ice fishing), or stay behind with a book and the fire. That choice is genuinely fine either way on this trip. Evening yoga is slower and more restorative, usually before dinner, and there's often a sauna session after.

Accommodation is in cabin-style rooms on the property, set among snow-covered pines. The retreat runs on a full-board basis with three meals a day, mostly vegetarian, cooked by the in-house team. Meals lean on Finnish ingredients — root vegetables, salmon, rye bread, berries, warming soups and stews. Guests are usually transferred as a group from Kittilä airport, about 45 minutes away depending on the snow.

The teacher for the 20-26 February 2027 departure is Laura Bell; the 27 February - 5 March 2027 departure is led by Adriana Salazar. Both run the same daily structure — a stronger morning practice and a slower evening one — with options for different levels in every class. If you're new to yoga, you won't be the only one; if you practise regularly, you'll still get plenty to work with.

This isn't a 'lie by the pool' week. The daytime activities involve real time outdoors in proper cold, and you'll need to be comfortable walking and moving in snow for a few hours at a stretch. That said, nothing is compulsory. Nobody is standing over you if you'd rather skip the ski morning and stay in the sauna. The property's setting — far from towns, in the middle of the Lapland forest — is the main event. It's dark for a lot of the day in winter, which is part of the point: long nights mean better odds of aurora sightings, and the retreat plans for that, including occasional middle-of-the-night wake-ups if the sky gets busy.
