Home › Retreats › Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training Immersion in Andalusia
Andalusia · 29 days · From USD 2750
This training is built around the Ashtanga Primary Series, but it doesn't force you into a single style. You'll be guided through the full series in the first two weeks, then transition to a self-practice approach that lets you internalize the sequence. On Tuesdays and Fridays, classes shift to Vinyasa flow with a specific focus—like arm balancing or working toward Hanumanasana—which gives you a model for teaching dynamic classes yourself.
The curriculum is broken into modules: asana, pranayama and meditation, anatomy and alignment, teaching methodology, and philosophy with a bit of Ayurveda. Anatomy is taught through the lens of the Primary Series, so you'll learn how forward folds, twists, and backbends actually function in the body rather than just how they look. The teaching methodology classes start on day one—you'll practice cueing, sequencing, and giving feedback with your peers, and by the end everyone has a solid one-hour class to teach.
Lead teacher Lascel brings over 1000 hours of teacher training under his belt, starting from hot Hatha in LA and evolving through Ashtanga in India. His style is dynamic, fun, and inclusive. Morwenna, who also teaches, came from a dance background and now blends Vinyasa flow with traditional Ashtanga, and she's a big believer in the Ayurvedic lifestyle that goes along with the practice. Together they've been leading courses for nearly a decade.
The villa itself is set in a protected natural park, completely secluded—you'll hear birds, not traffic. Los Caños de Meca is a cliff-top town known for surfers and water sports, with tapas bars and coffee shops a short walk away. It's a spot that attracts travelers who want simple, wholesome living, and the retreat makes the most of that by keeping the schedule balanced: classes all day from Sunday to Thursday, a half-day on Friday, and Saturday off for exploring.
