Ayahuasca & Psilohuasca Weekend Retreat in the Netherlands

Netherlands · 3 days · From EUR 845

The weekend has a fixed shape. You arrive on Friday afternoon, settle into your room, and meet the group over a light meal. There's a preparation talk before the first ceremony — what to expect, how to hold yourself during the journey, what to do if it gets difficult. The first ceremony runs Friday evening into the night, with facilitators present throughout. Saturday is deliberately quiet: rest, light food, time in the garden, and one-to-one check-ins with the facilitators if you want them. The second ceremony is Saturday night, usually with a different plant or a different dose, so the two nights aren't carbon copies of each other. Sunday morning is integration — a group session where you talk through what happened and, more practically, what you're going to do differently on Monday. You leave after lunch.

What sets this apart from other plant medicine weekends is the group size and the choice of substance. Groups are kept small so the facilitators can actually sit with each person during a ceremony rather than just watching the room. And you're not locked into one plant: ayahuasca, psilocybin truffles, and Psilohuasca are all on offer, and the team will talk with you beforehand about which fits what you're coming for. Psilohuasca in particular is less common in Europe and tends to produce a shorter, gentler arc than a full ayahuasca night, which some people prefer for a first experience.

The retreat house sits in the countryside near Culemborg, a town of about 30,000 with a medieval centre, a fifteenth-century church, and a train station with direct connections to Utrecht (around 25 minutes) and Amsterdam (around an hour). The property itself is residential — you sleep on site, eat on site, and don't need to leave between ceremonies. Rooms are confirmed when you book; private and shared options are both available, and the standard package is a shared room. Meals are cooked for the group and dietary needs are taken into account, so you need to tell the team in advance if you're vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or anything else.

MindTravellers runs this retreat as one of two plant medicine weekends in the Netherlands. The team combines indigenous ceremonial traditions with a more contemporary therapeutic approach — there's no pretending the two are the same thing, and the weekend is structured so that the ceremonial side is respected and the therapeutic side does the work of helping you make sense of it afterwards. Cancellation terms, exact arrival times, and final pricing are all confirmed by the team before you pay anything, and you book directly with them rather than through an intermediary.
