Home › Retreats › Ayahuasca Weekend Retreat in the Netherlands: Two Ceremonies, Yoga & Nature
Netherlands · 3 days · From EUR 699
The weekend runs Friday to Sunday. Check-in is from 15:30 on the Friday, which gives you time to settle into your bed, meet the other four or five people you'll be sitting with, and eat before the first ceremony that evening. Friday night is ceremony one. Saturday morning is slow — rest, breakfast, time outside — and Saturday evening is ceremony two. Sunday morning is for integration: talking through what came up, a closing circle, and departure. The exact hour-by-hour gets confirmed with you before you arrive.
The two people running it are Christian and Isabel, co-founders of So Alegria. Christian has been guiding sacred plant ceremonies, Kambo and breathwork for several years and describes his role as holding a safe space rather than healing anyone. Isabel's background is social work, creative therapy, herbalism and yoga; she's the one who tends to the room, the atmosphere and the small practical things. Between them they keep the tone plain. Their own words are that this work can go deep and touch vulnerable places, but it doesn't have to feel heavy — there's room for a smile in it.
What separates this from bigger ayahuasca retreats is the size. Six people, two facilitators, and a maximum of six beds means nobody gets lost in the group. There is a brief online intake conversation required before booking, which is not a formality — it's how they screen for contraindications and make sure the weekend is appropriate for you. If you're on SSRIs, have a heart condition, or have a personal or family history of psychosis, this is not the right setting and they will tell you so.
The location is a rural property in North Brabant, close to 's-Hertogenbosch. It's about 25 minutes by local bus from Den Bosch Central Station, and they'll pick you up from the bus stop if you need. Schiphol is the nearest major airport. The property has forest on the doorstep and a swimming pond, which matters more than it sounds — having somewhere to walk alone between ceremonies is part of how the weekend works.
Meals are simple, wholesome and mostly plant-based, cooked to the dietary guidelines that go with plant ceremonies. That means no alcohol, no fermented or aged foods, no heavy spices, and nothing that will fight the medicine. You eat together, which is when most of the processing happens informally. Tea and water are available all weekend.
