Home › Retreats › Bali Pickleball & Yoga Training Escape
Indonesia · 8 days · From USD 1725
The retreat splits its time between two very different sides of Bali. The first six nights are at Amed Paradise Beach Club, a low-key spot on the east coast with black volcanic sand, dive shops at the door, and Mount Agung looming behind the bay. The courts are a short walk away. The last two nights shift to Aahana Village in Canggu, a more urban area with easy access to PickleBali Clubs, an indoor facility with a fast, controlled surface. The change of scene is deliberate: you get the calm of a fishing village for the main training block, then the energy of Canggu for the finale.
Coaching is the heart of the week. Bagoes Adam, a professional player with a 5.0+ DUPR rating—top 1% globally—leads three full days of sessions. The format is capped at four players per court, so your hand gets seen on every drill. Mornings are drilling and technical work, midday is live-ball and tactical scenarios, and afternoons are coached games. The final two days in Canggu add two clinics with a PickleBali Clubs coach on the indoor surface, which plays differently—faster, more controlled, no wind. It's worth experiencing before the World Pickleball Championship in Sanur the following week.
The host, Alban, is a French former diving instructor and yoga teacher with 800 hours of training. He's been based in Indonesia for five years and picked up pickleball two years ago, starting this retreat because he wanted exactly this kind of experience for himself. He's built the week around the local community—training at real clubs, not resort-style courts. Off-court, the retreat includes a snorkeling trip, a cultural visit to Lempuyang Temple (or similar), and a few group dinners. The vibe is serious about pickleball but not bootcamp about anything else.
Accommodation is included for all eight nights, with the first six at Amed Paradise Beach Club and the last two at Aahana Village. You'll be in a private room with AC, an ensuite bathroom, and a terrace. All court fees, balls, paddle loans if you need them, daily yoga, and airport transfers between Denpasar, Amed, and Canggu are covered. Flights and travel insurance are down to you.
