Bali Wellness & Yoga Escape: Seven-Day Reset in the Jungles of Ubud

Indonesia · 7 days · From USD 950

The week runs Sunday to Sunday, with most guests arriving on the first afternoon and leaving after the final morning class. Day one is light: settle into your room, meet the group over dinner, then a short restorative session before bed to shake off the flight. The real schedule starts on day two, with a 90-minute vinyasa class on the open-air deck from around 07:30 while it's still cool, followed by breakfast.

Mornings are the busiest part of the day. After breakfast there's usually a workshop slot — arm balances, backbends, or an introduction to pranayama depending on the group — then lunch. From about 2pm to 5:30pm nothing is scheduled. Guests tend to use that window for massages, a walk into town, a swim, or a nap. Evening sessions run at 18:00 and are gentler: yin, restorative, yoga nidra or a guided meditation, depending on the day. Dinner follows at 19:30.

Midweek there's a longer excursion. In most weeks this is a morning walk through the rice terraces near the property, ending at a local warung, and on another day a temple visit in the afternoon. One afternoon is usually kept clear for an optional trip further afield — Mount Batur at sunrise or a beach afternoon in the south — arranged on site and paid separately.

What separates this from the many similar Ubud retreats is the schedule structure rather than any single feature: two classes a day every day, workshops built in, and a fixed arrival and departure day, which tends to mean the group actually bonds over the week instead of turning over every few nights. The teachers are Balinese and Western instructors who live locally, and classes are taught in English.

Food is cooked at the property — mostly Balinese and Indonesian dishes with a few Western breakfast options — and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free needs are handled if you tell the organiser in advance. Wifi works in the common areas, less reliably in the rooms, which most guests find is fine by day two.
