Indonesia · 7 days · From USD 527
The days at Balitrees follow a quiet rhythm. Mornings start with a general yoga session at 8 am, open to all retreat guests, followed by breakfast and a cultural activity that changes daily—you might learn Balinese music, make coconut oil, or walk through the rice fields. After lunch, the real focus begins: the afternoon Balinese Watukaru yoga and meditation sessions at 4 pm, where you'll learn the traditional postures, pranayama, and chanting that define this ancient style. This is a teacher training, so expect a structured curriculum that goes beyond just physical practice. You'll explore chakra opening, meditation, and the philosophical roots of the tradition, all guided by Gede Arya, a ninth-generation disciple of the Perguruan Seruling Dewata ashram, and I Krishna, a long-time local teacher. The training is run only by local people, in a village setting, which sets it apart from most other retreats in Bali. You'll leave with a certificate upon successful completion, along with a deep understanding of a yoga style that's rarely taught outside of Bali.
