Home › Retreats › Bay of Kotor Yoga and Adventure Week in Perast, Montenegro
Montenegro · 7 days · From USD 5725
Perast is a strip of baroque stone houses along the bay, and the villa sits right in it — a 300-year-old building renovated to keep the original architecture, with red rooftops below and the water and mountains across from it. There is a monastery next door, an infinity pool with an uninterrupted view of the bay and the islands, and a wood-fired sauna and jacuzzi you can use in your free time. The village itself is a UNESCO site, small enough to walk end to end in ten minutes.
The yoga is built around the rest of the schedule rather than the other way round. Day one has a grounding circle and opening class at 17:30 after a 15:00 check-in. Mornings after that are usually 08:15–09:30 or 08:30–10:00, with a gentler 15:00–16:30 class on day three and a closing practice and circle on day six at 18:00. Classes are taught for all levels and led by the operator's own facilitators.
What separates this from a standard yoga week is how much of it happens on and in the water. You paddle or kayak out to the Lady of the Rocks church island on day three. Day four is a private boat tour from 11:00 to 19:00 with snorkelling, a blue cave and a seaside lunch. Day two includes a guided walk through Kotor old town with lunch and an optional climb of 1,350 steps to the fortress. Day five goes to Lovcen National Park for a nature walk, a smokehouse visit with lunch, and an alpine coaster and cable car, weather permitting.
Food and drink are part of the itinerary rather than an afterthought: mussels and shrimp at a sea winery on day two, a happy hour with a local organic farmer on day three, and a dinner at a local favourite by the water that evening. Breakfast is at the villa each morning, with coffee, tea and fruit out earlier.
Rooms are in the villa, split into Deluxe Suites and Superior Rooms, all with a king bed and ensuite bathroom. Beds cannot be separated, so shared places are for two people who book together — if you come alone and want to share, the operator will try to pair you with another guest, and if nobody is available you take a private room instead. Four suites have a bathtub or jacuzzi in the room, allocated first come, first served. Once the villa is full, guests spill over into a nearby hotel.
