Home › Retreats › Beach Yoga & Wellness Escape in Corfu, Greece
Greece · 5 days · From USD 699
The retreat takes place in a small seaside hotel in Agios Gordios, a village on the southwest coast of Corfu known for its long sandy beach and dramatic cliffs. The setting is green and lush, with olive-covered hills and fairy forests behind the hotel, and the sea right in front. This is a working Greek village, not a tourist strip, so you get a real sense of local life — tavernas, a small supermarket, and a laid-back pace. The hotel itself is a pink building with balconies facing the water, and while it's not modern, it's comfortable and air-conditioned, with everything you need for a simple seaside stay.
Each day follows a gentle rhythm. At 8:30, there's a 75-minute yoga and meditation class, often Hatha or Vinyasa, led by one of the several international teachers who rotate through. After breakfast, there's a guided activity — a hike to a nearby viewpoint, a walk through the village, or a SUP session in the calm lagoon. Afternoons are free for swimming, reading, or booking a massage at the massage room. At 17:00, there's a shorter class or workshop, and at 18:00, another 75-minute yoga and meditation session. Dinner is served at 19:50, followed by an optional evening activity like Yoga Nidra, a mindfulness workshop, or a walk to the beach under the stars.
The yoga styles taught here are accessible and restorative: Hatha for gentle alignment, Yin for deep stretching, Restorative for nervous system calming, and Yoga Nidra for profound relaxation. Teachers adapt every class to the people in the room, so beginners and advanced students practice side by side. The retreat also includes extras you might not expect: a women's ceremony with sound journey, SUP in the lagoon, ecstatic dance or movie nights, and karaoke nights during dinner. The weekly program is handed out on arrival, so you know what's on and can pick and choose.
The food is a highlight for many guests. Breakfast and dinner are both daily buffets, with home-cooked Greek and Mediterranean dishes made from fresh, local ingredients. There are always vegetarian and vegan options, and fish and chicken appear a couple of times a week. The chef caters to gluten-free, dairy-free, and other dietary needs with advance notice. Water, tea, and coffee are available all day, so you're never parched.
The retreat is open to all ages and levels — the only requirement is that you can breathe. The teaching is adaptable, and the schedule is flexible, so you can take part in as much or as little as you want. The group is small, between 1 and 28 people, which keeps things intimate and friendly. It's ideal for solo travelers, as the communal meals and group activities make it easy to meet people. One guest noted there's quite a bit of walking up stairs and hills, so it's worth considering if you have mobility issues, but the rewards are the stunning views and a genuine sense of escape.
