Belize · 7 days
Prana Maya Island Resort is on an island in Belize, with the Caribbean on one side and jungle on the other. The yoga terrace is on the top floor of The Inn and has 180-degree views of both. It is open-air, so you get the breeze while you practise. It is available 24 hours a day, though most guests use it in the morning or around sunset.
The fitness centre has weights and modern equipment and is open around the clock. If you want to train outside, ask the front desk for the TRX suspension trainers — they will hang them at The Island Club's palapa for a session. The pickleball court is shaded by a palapa, lit for night play, and open 24 hours. Equipment is free, and the resort can arrange expert coaches.
The spa is open daily from 9am. Treatments use what the resort calls sustainable wellness practices, and the therapists are experienced. If you want to book after 3pm, ask — they will fit you in based on availability.
Nutrition is handled by a chef and licensed healthcare providers. They run programmes and workshops focused on fresh Belizean ingredients, and the approach is food-as-medicine rather than a strict diet. The resort also puts on sound baths, meditation, breathwork, retreats, wellness coaching, culinary experiences, cacao celebrations, and apothecary workshops. These are open to all guests.
This is a resort rather than a structured retreat with a set daily schedule. You build your own days. That suits people who want flexibility — train when you like, eat well, and book treatments as you go. It is not the place for someone who wants a bootcamp-style programme with every hour planned.
