The way it works is straightforward. First you reserve your accommodation at the hostel, choosing either a bed or a full room, and pay for it online. Then, in the booking note, you write which package you want: Surf Camp 3 days, Surf Camp 6 days, Surf Yoga Camp 3 days or Surf Yoga Camp 6 days. In the same note you give your arrival time and your flight or train number, so the team can pick you up from Biarritz airport or station.
A typical day is built around one surf lesson. The hostel van drops you at the spot, you get a board and wetsuit, and Axel runs the session. Lesson times in Biarritz usually depend on the tide, so expect the schedule to move a little from day to day. If you're on the Surf Yoga Camp, you also do a yoga class on lesson days, which helps with sore shoulders and tight hips after a few days of paddling.
What sets this apart from a bigger surf camp is how little is bundled in. There's no set menu, no fixed evening programme and no all-inclusive markup. You pay for coaching, equipment and transport, and the rest of the day is up to you. That suits people who like to eat out in town, explore the coast or travel on a tight budget.

Biarritz is one of the best-known surf towns in Europe. It has a long stretch of Atlantic beach breaks, a lively town centre with markets and cafés, and quick train links along the Basque coast to Bayonne, Anglet and over the border into Spain. The 3-day packages run only in the quieter months: April, May, June, September and October. The 6-day packages also run in July and August for a small summer supplement.
