Breathwork Teacher Training and Wellness Retreat in Mexico

The Breathe Love Academy’s teacher training is built on the idea that you can’t guide others through breathwork until you’ve felt it yourself. So every piece of theory is paired with direct experience—a guided meditation, a breathwork session, or an embodiment practice. You’ll study yoga, Taoist, tantric, and shamanic philosophies, but not as abstract ideas; they’re woven into how you learn to lead a ceremony.

The curriculum covers how to cleanse a space energetically, ground participants, set intentions, and build trust within a group. You’ll learn the science of breathwork—what happens in the nervous system, how neuroplasticity works—and then practice applying it. There’s also a strong focus on the business side: marketing yourself, finding clients, and building a career in the wellness world.

One of the standout pieces is the practical facilitation. You don’t just learn about leading a ceremony; you actually plan one, step by step, from the opening words to the integration. You’ll practice on your peers and get feedback from Mariposa and the team. By the final days, you’ll sit a theory exam and lead a full breathwork session as your graduation.

Mariposa (Cristina Alcalde) founded the academy after years of exploring yoga, tantra, and shamanic practices around the world. She’s known for blending ancient wisdom with a modern, accessible approach, and she keeps the training intimate so every student gets personal attention. The location—Playa del Carmen’s Riviera Maya—adds its own magic, with cenotes, beaches, and the energy of the jungle right outside the door.

You’ll stay in a serene gated community with lush gardens, pools, and shared living spaces. It’s a place designed for rest and reflection. With only a handful of students, the group becomes tight-knit fast, and by the end of the ten days, many leave feeling like they’ve found a second family.
