CompTrain Croatia: Strength & Conditioning Retreat on the Adriatic

Dalmatia · 4 days · From EUR 1318

The retreat runs Thursday evening to Sunday midday at a beachfront property on the Dalmatian coast. Thursday is arrival only — check in, settle in, and eat a welcome dinner at 7:00 PM. The programme starts properly on Friday.

Fridays and Saturdays follow the same shape: gym training at 7:30 AM, breakfast at 9:30, a wellness workshop at 11:00, then a long free block from 12:30 for lunch, the beach or an add-on activity. Late afternoon brings Yin Yoga with Heather at 4:30 and breathwork at 5:30, then dinner at 6:30. Saturday adds the water park at 3:00 PM for the whole group. Sunday flips the order — group hike at 7:00 AM, breakfast at 9:30, a beach workout at 11:00, then goodbyes and departures around noon.

The training itself is led by Ben Bergeron, who has coached CrossFit Games athletes and runs CompTrain's programming. Sessions are strength and conditioning in a beachfront gym with direct sea access, scaled to whoever's in the room — the FAQ says it suits everyone from people restarting fitness to seasoned athletes. Heather Bergeron leads the Yin Yoga and breathwork sessions. There are also dedicated mobility and recovery blocks and a nutrition workshop on fuelling for performance.

Where this differs from a generic fitness holiday: the accommodation is a brand-new private beach house, not a hotel room. The Partner Package puts two people in a shared house (two bedrooms, two bathrooms), while the Solo Package gives one person the entire house to themselves. Both come with air conditioning, a private balcony, premium bedding, sea views, a living room, outdoor patio and kitchen. Breakfast and dinner are served daily on site with locally sourced ingredients, and dietary requests are handled if flagged in advance.

The location is the other draw. The property sits right on the water with sea access from the grounds, roughly an hour from Zadar International Airport, and near historic sites and national parks. Split is a second airport option if you're not using the shuttle. An airport shuttle runs from Zadar, and everything on site is walkable, so a rental car isn't necessary — though there's parking if you prefer to drive.

This particular date is sold out and running a waitlist. The page also notes a next retreat is being planned, so it's worth contacting the operator directly if this weekend is what you're after.
