Home › Retreats › Costa Blanca Weight Loss & Fitness Retreat at a Traditional Spanish Villa
Spain · 8 days · From EUR 1400
A typical day starts early with a walk or a training session before it gets hot, then breakfast. Mornings usually combine an outdoor fitness session in the villa grounds with something lower impact — aqua aerobics in the pool is a fixture, and works well for anyone with knee, hip or back issues. After lunch there's usually a nutrition or mindset workshop, then a second activity in the afternoon: a longer walk, a group exercise session, or a swim. Evenings are quieter — dinner is served in the villa and most people sit outside afterwards.
Midweek includes a country walk that finishes at the 12th-century Atalaya Castle in Villena, which is the one proper excursion of the week. FitFarms also lays on massage therapies, bookable alongside the programme. If the weather turns, there's an indoor training area for sessions that would otherwise happen outside.
What separates this from a standard UK weight loss camp is the setting as much as the content. The villa dates to the 18th century and has extensive grounds, shaded corners, a large outdoor pool and rolling hills on every side — so the downtime between sessions is genuinely pleasant rather than something to get through. Scenic walking routes start at the villa gate and there's local wildlife around the estate.
The programme runs on the same framework used at FitFarms' other locations, combining exercise, nutrition education, mindset work and aftercare. It's a holistic approach rather than a calorie-deficit boot camp, and it's built for adults who want to lose weight without being treated like recruits.
Transfers are straightforward: guests are collected from Alicante Airport on the Saturday the course starts, with flexible arrival times, and driven back the following Saturday. If you're coming by car, the villa is reachable from across the Costa Blanca and FitFarms sends detailed directions once you've booked. The next Villena date is 26 September 2026, followed by 26 March 2027; a Portugal course runs 21 November 2026 if neither date works.
The team behind FitFarms has been running these courses for years and has appeared on ITV's Good Morning as a health contributor, as well as in national press. That's the background, but the more useful thing to know is that the format is deliberately unglamorous and practical — you'll walk, swim, lift, learn to cook and eat better, and go home with a plan.
