Home › Retreats › Costa del Sol Fitness Camp: Train in Estepona with Pool, Padel & Beach Days
Costa del Sol · 7 days
A typical day starts with a workout, probably before it gets properly hot. Sessions on previous trips have been CrossFit-style — strength work, metcons, functional training — but the content depends on the group you're travelling with and the coach leading it. Breakfast follows, then there's a stretch of free time in the middle of the day. Some afternoons have a second session or an organised activity; others don't. Evenings are usually group dinners at local restaurants, with people drifting off to beach clubs or back to the accommodation.
The location is Estepona, on the western stretch of the Costa del Sol, roughly an hour from Malaga airport and about half an hour from Marbella. It's quieter than Marbella or Torremolinos — a working Spanish town with a beach, a marina, and a long promenade. The accommodation is described as high-quality and the resort has pool areas, so a lot of the downtime happens on site. For anyone who wants more than training, the operators will arrange boat excursions, beach clubs, guided hikes, wine tours, restaurant bookings, and tee times — padel courts are also on site and golf courses are nearby.
Transfers from Malaga airport are included in the base package, and the trips are sold as all-in-one packages: flights (on many of the listed dates, from Copenhagen, Stockholm Arlanda or Gothenburg Landvetter), return airport transfer, accommodation, gym access, and training. One departure — Therese Wånehed's, 7–12 October 2026 — is listed with flights excluded, so worth checking when you book.
The operators have been running trips to Spain for years and describe their local knowledge as one of the main things they're selling. They position the trips as a premium option, which in practice means decent accommodation, a real gym rather than a hotel fitness room, and someone on the ground who knows the area. That shows up in the small stuff — they'll book the restaurant, sort the transfer, tell you which beach club is worth it.
The format is flexible by design. The standard package is a starting point, and you can add or drop training sessions, add excursions, or extend your stay. It suits people who want a structured trip without being locked into a rigid schedule, and it works as well for a solo traveller joining an open week as it does for a gym owner bringing a group of members.
