Fort Casey Running Camp 2027 runs Monday 26 July to Friday 30 July 2027 at Fort Casey, 1276 Engle Road, Coupeville, WA 98239. It is a cross country camp, not a general fitness week: the schedule is built around running, and the stated aim is to prepare athletes for their own cross country season in a team atmosphere.
The setting does the work. Fort Casey has miles of trails through forest and next to the water's edge, so training happens on real terrain rather than a track. The camp sits on Whidbey Island near the town of Coupeville.
Coaching comes from Pat Tyson, coach at Gonzaga University, and the rest of the Youth Runner team. The camp is primarily a high school camp and is limited to 70 athletes, which keeps the group small enough for the coaching team to work with runners directly.
One day of the week is spent taking the ferry across to Port Townsend.
There are two ways to attend. The residential price covers the full camp. The commuter-day camper option lets an athlete take part in all the activities and go back to their own hotel or home at night.
