Detox & Renewal: A Guided Yoga and Juice-Fast Wellness Retreat in the Peruvian Amazon

The retreat follows a clear arc. For the first seven days, you ease into a cleansing protocol, starting each morning with warm lime water brought to your cabin, followed by fresh fruit extracts and a nourishing breakfast. Wellness activities like gentle yoga, meditation, Reiki, or a massage are scheduled in the late morning or afternoon. The rest of the time is yours to float in the spring-fed lagoon, wander the forest, spend time with the horses, read, nap, or journal.

Day 8 is the liver flush, the most structured day, where Johanne walks you through each stage. The final day is all about rest and integrating the experience as you gently transition back to your normal routine.

What sets this apart is the setting. Tambo Ilusión is a privately protected conservation area, not a busy retreat center. The soundscape is birdsong at dawn and frogs at night. You stay in one of six private wooden bungalows, each with a screened porch and two hammocks. It's just you and, at most, one or two other guests, making the whole thing feel incredibly personal.

Johanne is a Usui Reiki Master and certified yoga instructor with over 2,500 hours of teaching experience. Her yoga style is alignment-based and Anusara-inspired, but she adapts everything to how you're feeling each day. This isn't a bootcamp. The focus is on resetting through the cleanse, gentle movement, and genuine rest.
