Family-Friendly Tuscan Yoga Retreat with Daily Vinyasa and Yin

Tuscany · 7 days · From EUR 2600

Days at La Dogana tend to start early. Celeste leads an open-level vinyasa flow in the morning before breakfast, then the group eats together — six breakfasts are included across the week. The middle of the day is when the excursions happen: three professionally guided city tours with transport, covering Assisi, Pienza and Montepulciano. These are run as insider tours of the area rather than standard tourist routes. There's also a winery tour and tasting, an olive oil mill tour and tasting, and a truffle hunt with a professional guide that ends in a lunch made with the truffles the group finds. A pasta-making class rounds out the food side of the week.

Evenings are slower. Yin and meditation with Celeste, then a three-course farm-to-table dinner with wine included. Six dinners are part of the package, and the kitchen accommodates vegetarian and gluten-free diets.

What separates this from a generic Tuscany yoga week is that it's been run at this same villa five times, so the itinerary is built on what actually worked before rather than a first attempt. The truffle hunt and the pasta class are on the newer side of the schedule. The city tours go to Assisi, Pienza and Montepulciano with transport included, and a boat trip on Lake Trasimeno with a visit to the island town at its centre is available as an optional add-on, along with a Siena day trip and massage bookings.

Celeste Cusumano teaches both the morning vinyasa and the evening yin and meditation sessions. She's the retreat leader and the person to email with questions. Yoga happens twice daily and is pitched at open level, so it works whether you've been practising for years or are fairly new to it. Childcare during class times is handled by a group of local carers who run treasure hunts at La Dogana, crafts and cooking classes for the kids.

The villa sits in the Tuscan countryside near Lake Trasimeno, close enough to the towns on the itinerary to make day trips practical. Guests have the pool for the free afternoons, and the property's own two-bedroom apartments mean families stay together rather than split across rooms. Solo guests are placed in a private room within a shared apartment, and Celeste helps with apartment-sharing suggestions and introductions once the guest list is settled.
