Home › Retreats › Family Surf & Windsurf Camp on the Hel Peninsula, Poland
Poland · 8 days
Days start with breakfast at the Ale Fale restaurant, then kids move into their SurfPoint groups while parents either take a class themselves or do their own thing. The children's programme runs Monday to Friday and splits by age: the youngest are looked after by animateurs with all-day themed activities, while older kids and teens rotate through the watersports and land-based sessions. Windsurfing, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, wakeboarding and motorboat trips make up the water side. On land, instructors run yoga, zumba, team games, outdoor survival and creative workshops.
Afternoons are freer. There are two playgrounds on the property, competitions and games for kids, and regenerative yoga and stretching sessions for anyone who wants them. Adults can book windsurfing or kitesurfing lessons through SurfPoint at a reduced rate for resort guests — this is one of the better places in Poland to learn, because the bay side of the peninsula gives you shallow, flat water and steady thermal wind, while the sea side gives you waves.
Evenings alternate between organised and relaxed. Expect a bonfire or barbecue with sausages, live music concerts, wine tasting for parents, a sunset SUP paddle, a whole-family animation night, and an evening at the sauna and hot tub. Dinner is served at Ale Fale every night, and the bar team handles drinks.
Meals are taken care of: seven breakfasts and seven dinners at the restaurant, plus five lunchboxes for children Monday to Friday. The restaurant serves fresh, warming food from morning to night, with tea and coffee at breakfast. It's a resort restaurant rather than a dedicated wellness kitchen, but the food is cooked on site and the chefs are on from early morning until late.
The cottages sleep two, four, five or six people and come in Standard or Premium, each with a terrace or garden. The resort is at Mickiewicza 164 in Jastarnia, on the Hel Peninsula. It's about 1.2 hours (80 km) from Gdańsk, 3 hours (245 km) from Olsztyn, 4.5 hours (380 km) from Poznań and 5 hours (420 km) from Warsaw, so most Polish families drive. Dogs are welcome and the resort is set up for them, including the nearby beach.
Four camp dates run across summer: 24 June – 1 July, 1–8 July, 19–26 August and 26 August – 2 September.
